Put Your Thinking Caps On

Ever want to experience Enshrinement? Well now is the time, since the College Football Hall of Fame will soon load up its truck and move to Beverly… (um, Atlanta). As usual, our town is filled with new celebrity faces and downtown is all abuzz. It’s pretty exciting. Check out CFHOF’s website to find an activity that interests you (see ribs cook-off in previous post – yum!!):

While there has been controversy surrounding the CFHOF, I think most would agree that it has been a fun stop for families on various occasions (from Enshrinement to Football Fridays to special events and more). Personally, I hope there is a way for some of those activities to stick around.

If money were not an issue, how would you like to see the CFHOF building used? Here’s a couple of my ideas:
1. Full-service shopping mecca with specialty boutiques, bridal boutique, restaurant, and grocery store (a need for those that live downtown).
2. Community center with theatre, rooms for programs/classes, meeting space (Okay, I know this is a real stretch, but it could be fun).

What are your ideas? Share them here!

Ribs, Blues and Sunshine

What a glorious day to spend at The Cove today. However, not for baseball. Instead, check out South Bend Park’s Ribs & Blues Fest. Besides the obvious advantage of good food and music, you will also be supporting Miracle Park (for special needs individuals). Everyone wins. For more info, check out SBPark’s website:

Friday Fun in Downtown South Bend

We are truly lucky to have a myriad of things to do in downtown South Bend, from Coveleski Stadium to South Bend Civic Theatre … and everything in-between. But we’re even more fortunate to have a group that organizes a monthly themed activity. How many communities can boast of such a thing? Seriously, how cool is that?!

This Friday is a First Friday, so don’t miss the fun downtown. From DTSB’s All Things Sustainable to the Sunburst activities, there will be plenty for the whole family to see and do. So grab your kids or a friend and get out the door Friday. For more info, check out DTSB’s website:

Raise your hand if you’ve participated in DTSB’s First Fridays before. Or if you’re planning to join in this Friday. Hope to see you there!
