About rsb

As a resident of South Bend, I refuse to believe we’re a “Dying City,” as a recent article in Newsweek claims. Nor do I care to give credence to Princeton who lists South Bend among the “College Towns not so Great.”

I believe what many residents of South Bend believe… that this is a generous, caring, innovative community.

My desire is to highlight those people (and groups) in our community who will not let some Newsweek article define them. This is for, and about, those generous, caring and innovative people doing transformational work that improves life in South Bend.

Won’t you join me as we share ideas and resources that can benefit others in our community?

You were at the town hall meeting last night and stood to ask a question. I love that you’re helping actually do the tough work tomorrow morning at 8am. Those, IMHO, are the kinds of initiatives we need: just start doing the work.
I am the young gentleman who sat in the front, same side of the room as you last night, and asked about posting the code violations clean up needs to a website and empower the community to go work on them via volunteerism.
I wish I could have spoken with you last night – my sister and I are very much so trying to be change agents for the community. I want to sit down with you and understand where you’re coming from and what you’re trying to do so that we can support you in what you’re doing and/or help complete the initiatives you have going on.
Talk to you soon — grant.carlile@gmail.com

Love what you’re doing for SB! I work for Southgate Church & we are looking for areas to serve our community. We’re interested in helping with the abandon home project. We serve in the community every 2nd Saturday & would love to help somewhere on June 9th if at all possible! Please, contact me at your earliest convenience.
